From Random Walks and Fokker Planck Equation to molecular motor driven transport.
Stas Burov
In this lecture I intend to introduce several basic approaches to transport in disordered media.
1. The path from master equations to Fokker-Planck Equation.
2. Deterministic foundations of the stochastic Langevin and Generalized Langevin Equations.
3. Multiplicative noise and Ito-Stratonovich-Hanngi-Klimontovich interpretations.
4. Position dependent diffusivity and effective potential.
Eventually I will try to tie all these topics together in order to explain how simple models of transport via molecular motors can give rise to anomalous diffusion.
